1. Identify which document is missing
The registration certificate, SDK, acquisition contract and proof of ownership are different items. Check which one is missing and whether Regitra’s records show you as the declared owner.
Keys, a number plate or VIN alone do not prove the right to transfer ownership. Do not hand over the vehicle on a promise that the paperwork will be fixed later.
2. Order a replacement certificate
Regitra says a lost or damaged registration certificate can be replaced online or at a branch. Check current delivery options, fees and timing when ordering because these may change.
If the document may have been stolen, contact the police, particularly if keys or identity documents disappeared at the same time.

3. Valuation may start while you wait
For an initial offer, provide the VIN, model, year, mileage, location, condition and photographs, and state clearly that the certificate is being replaced.
Before the final handover, verify the seller’s identity, ownership, SDK and matching vehicle data. Stop if the VIN is unreadable or any records conflict.
